New member candidates must attend one club function (annual meeting or tournament as a guest) prior to vote in by majority of club membership.
Minimum age requirement is 18 years old.
Annual (Jan 1 thru Dec 31) club dues will be $50 payable before or at the 1st club tournament.
Club officers positions (President, Secretary/Treasurer, Tournament Director) will be elected on a (1) year basis among the membership before the first tournament of each year.
Violation of membership duties/by-laws may result in permanent dismissal from the club (with no refund dues collected) as determined by the club officers. Appeals and grievances will be resolved by a vote of the attending membership.
By-law changes or updates will be voted on by members at the January/February meeting. In the event of a tie, officers have final say on any by-law changes or updates.
Club sponsored events/activities, assignments will be made as needed to get full participation from the club.
II. Standings
The club member with the highest cumulative individual total tournament weight (minus 2 drops) for the year will be the "Angler of the Year" and awarded free club dues for the upcoming year. A plaque will also be given.
In the event of a tie involving individual AOY weight, the tie will be broken by one member determined to be the "Angler of the Year" by the biggest fish caught during the year.
The individual catching the largest (Lunker) fish for the tournament year will be awarded one half dues for the upcoming year and a plaque.
III. Tournament Rules
Life jackets must be worn if the boat is on plane.
Tournaments will be held March through December if conditions allow.
Tournament dates will be set in January/February business meetings and can be flexible.
Tournament sites and ramps will be determined at the annual club meeting by a majority
vote by current members. Tournament site may change with majority vote of participating members. Tournament ramps may be changed (by the Tournament Director) if there is
an issue with obtaining necessary permits and/or conflicting usage.
Tournament pairings (boater and non-boater) will be conducted by random draw prior to
each tournament. The pairings and tournament hours will be announced to participants by
the Tournament Director.
In the event of an odd number of pairings for a tournament, no member will be left on the bank. If necessary, a guest will be dropped.
Club members are allowed to bring the same guest to no more than two tournaments each year.
Blast off order will be by partner draw at the monthly tournament meeting. Last boat will call out the numbers.
Creel limit will be 5 fish - 14" or greater - per individual. Tournament Director is responsible to communicate.
Tournament penalties:
Late: Minus 1 lb/per minute up to 10 minutes, disqualified after that.
Dead fish: Minus .20 per dead fish.
Short fish: Loss of the fish plus the largest fish in the creel.
Tournament Director or appointed Tournament Director will carry cell phone and have it on 1 hour prior to weigh-in. If broken down and cannot make it to weigh-in, the boater must contact Tournament Director of such for fish to be weighed in.
The officers will have final say in any tournament disputes or conflicts.
Non-boater participants are responsible for up to 1/2 of the expenses as mutually determined for a tournament (No show to pay boater $20).
Single day tournament entry fee will be $10 per member angler ($15 per guest angler) for total weight and $5 (optional) per angler for big fish of the tournament.
13a. Single day tournaments with 10 or more participants (members + guests) will pay
70% (1st place individual angler total weight) and 30% (2nd place individual angler total
weight) of the collected tournament fees. If there are less than 10 participants, only 1st
place will be paid (100% of the collected tournament fees) to the individual with
highest creel weight.
Big fish of the tournament will remain at 100% of collected big fish fees to the
individual with the biggest fish regardless of the number of participants.
One 2-day tournament will be held in Spring, Summer, and Fall with sites, times, and non-boater pairings determined at meeting. A $25 entry fee per participating club member angler ($40 per guest angler) for each 2-day tournament will be imposed with the following payout:
60% first place
25% second place
15% third place
A $5.00 fee for Big Fish per day is optional.
One hundred ($100) will be added to Spring, Summer, and Fall 2-day tournament pot from the club treasury provided funds are available.
One single day team tournament format will be conducted per year. The team
tournament format will require an even number of boater/non-boater pairings for the
tournament. The tournament status (team or individual) will be announced at the ramp prior
to blast off by the Club president or designee. Each boater/non-boater team member will
weigh in their individual fish separate (for angler of the year standings) and the combined
weight caught by the team will determine the team tournament standing. Each team angler must catch their own fish (5 fish maximum creel limit per angler, 10 fish per boat).
Team tournament entry fees and payouts (team instead of individual) will remain as noted in
Section 13.
IV. Annual BIG FISH Sidepot
A member only yearly big fish side pot will be initiated in the 2024 season. The 1st fish weighed in during a tournament that meets the weight criteria (7lbs or better) will take the total pot.
Annual entry fee will be $20 per member.
In the event no fish is weighed in that meets the weight criteria during the tournament season, the pot funds will carry over to the next year.
If the pot funds are carried over to the next year, any members that have not paid for previous seasons in the pot will be required to pay catch up fees + fees for the upcoming season.
